Saving Images and Video
Saving images with right-click prevention
On some websites, you may try to save a picture, only to be told "Sorry, you do not have
permission to save images." when you right-click on it. Don't give up when you see this!
There are ways to bypass this protection.
Copy and Paste
The fastest and simplest method is to copy the image and paste it
into the program you wish to use it in (i.e. Word or PowerPoint). Of course, you can't
right-click on it to copy it. Here's how to do it:
- Select the image -- the same way you select text, by holding the left mouse button down
at one side of it, dragging the cursor to the other side of the image until it gets a
blue tint, then releasing the mouse button.
- Press the "context menu" key on your keyboard -- the key next to the right Windows
key, which shows a menu and pointer. (If you don't have that key, you can still get that
menu: hold SHIFT and press the F10 key.)
- Select "Copy" from the menu.
- Go to the program in which you want to use the graphic, right-click where you want
to put the graphic, and select "Paste."
